Gerard E. Thomas, O.P. (Ordained Priest) is a registered Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® practitioner (www.jinshindo.org). He is a student of Eastern spiritual philosophy and has studied and worked with energy for over 20 years. Gerard practices Reiki, too.

In addition to being a registered Jin Shin Do® Acupressure practitioner, Gerard has been a wildlife ecologist for 40+ years. Gerard received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University focusing on Natural Resources and received his Masters of Science degree in Wildlife Ecology from the University of New Hampshire. He has participated in wildlife research through Universities and was a Wildlife Biologist for Environmental Consulting Firms in New Hampshire. Gerard became a Certified Wetland Scientist in NH and has a strong background in plant ecology and soil science. Most Recently, Gerard has been a substance abuse counselor in an addiction treatment program, combining his knowledge and experience in Eastern Spirituality and Mindfulness Practices with his Ecological Background to assist persons in their recovery from drug and alcohol addictions.

Gerard currently lives in Sydney, NY. He spends most of his free time in nature receiving lessons of the Tao. Gerard enjoys hiking, canoeing, snowshoeing, and wilderness camping in New York and New England. He is an avid Nature Photographer and has shown his works in juried art shows and artisan guilds. Gerard currently holds a 4th-degree black belt in the Bujinkan martial art, which he still practices and incorporates into his daily life. In 2006, he climbed Africa's Mt. Kilimanjaro. In 2018, Gerard went to India where he received teachings from the Dalai Lama.
