Testimonials

Acupressure is extremely effective. During my sessions with Gerard, my whole being is transported to a place of the deepest relaxation. It is remarkable. By focusing on the gentle but deliberate pressure of Gerard's fingertips, I invariably fall asleep early in the session. The level of relaxation is unprecedented. I have had acupuncture sessions and felt similarly, but this modality eliminates the stress of the needles. I have had a lot of success through Gerard's treatments with chronic neck pain, anxiety and tinnitus. I have a learned appreciation for a less is more approach to healing. This work is subtle but powerful. This is medicine that works on the deepest level to facilitate natural healing. It is eloquent, not invasive.

Gerard, I just wanted to say "THANK YOU". This is the best experience I've ever had. I've been an avid Chiropractor patient for over 15 years and while doing acupressure with you, I stopped going to my Chiropractor for over 9 months. When I stopped receiving Acupressure for a while, I could tell the difference.  While doing Acupressure, I am happy, relaxed and just plain feeling good about myself.  Everyone needs to try this. After a few visits I really got the whole effect of it. It's the Best! I am looking forward to my next visit.

I have been a CranioSacral practitioner for over 13 years and have experienced many forms of holistic interventions. I have found Gerard to possess a wonderful combination of skill and intuition with his acupressure techniques. I could feel the difference almost immediately and the results have been excellent. I do not hesitate to recommend his services.

I am co-owner of a retreat center as well as a Reiki master and life coach.  I have gotten to know Gerard over the last 2 years. He is very sincere in his desire to help others through his practice of Jin Shin Do Bodymind Acupressure. After having an acupressure session with Gerard, I was happy to list him as one of the services Harmony Hill Retreat Center has to offer to our guests. Gerard's skill and expertise are evident in his work.  His knowledge and experience along with his caring intentions have been healing for our guests as well as for me.  Everyone receiving a session from Gerard has given us positive feedback.  One of our guests who received a treatment from Gerard, said that between the peacefulness of the Hill and her session with Gerard, she felt like a new person. We are happy to offer Gerard's services at the Hill and gladly recommend him.

On January 21, 2007 I was working with a horse when he suddenly reared up and fell over backwards. I managed to push off and avoid him falling directly on top of me, but I hit the hard packed ground very hard. A woman (the owner of the horse) was screaming. I looked to my left to say that I was alright. I didn't know for sure if I was, but that screaming was really annoying. The horse had fallen next to me on my right side. As I turned my head to see where he was he had tried to get to his feet and he had lost his balance and he fell, sitting on the right side of my chest. At that point the pain was extreme and I couldn't focus my vision. I felt a second wave of pain as he pushed off my chest to get up.  I saw the horse trot away and the woman screamed something about 911. I managed to roll over to my stomach, but I couldn't get up. The ambulance crew found me semi-conscious face down in the dirt. The next time I was conscious, I was in the emergency room. The expectation was broken ribs, a punctured lung, and assorted internal injuries. After full body x-rays, an MRI, and results from every organ function test known to mankind, they found no reason to admit me. I was released to return home and rest. I was provided with a couple of bottles of pain relievers and an appointment for a follow-up exam and a course of physical therapy.  I decided to deal with it myself. No pills, no exams, and no PT. My torso swelled up as if I had gained 25 pounds overnight. I spent a month in bed. My wife had to help me to stand, sit or lay down. She had to put my clothes on and take them off for me as well as assisting me with ordinary daily functions. During that time I did bits and pieces of Feldenkrais movements, meditated and practiced Medicine Buddha mantras, and twice a day I would shuffle from the bedroom to the living room and back, moaning and practicing some socially unacceptable mantra that I had learned in the Marine Corps. My dream was to be able to walk out of the house to get the mail and bring it back in.  After about 5 or 6 weeks I was able to do it. My second goal many sound silly, but it was to be able to bend my body enough to put on my own socks. That took about 8 months. I am happy to report that I can now dress and undress without assistance or pain.

I have known Gerard Thomas for quite a few years. We have studied Bujinkan Martial Arts together. He offered his assistance in the form of acupressure treatments. His treatments gave me what I needed. The acupressure gave me "R and R", Relaxation in my body and Relief from the intense chronic pain. After the very first treatment, I remember telling him that I felt a significant reduction in the pain and stiffness that lasted for at least a couple of days. As I write this note, it is August 2009. I have resumed working with horses, practicing my Martial Art, playing with my band and enjoying living. I have occasional lower back stiffness, which usually doesn't last for more than a few minutes at a time.

I know that Gerard's treatments with Jin Shin Do played an integral part in my recovery. I highly recommend his services to anyone dealing with short-term recovery from an injury or long term chronic pain.

Thank you! Gerard
